The best trials riders from Great Britain will go head-to-head with their rivals from across the world in September as the FIM’s Trial des Nations competition gets underway.
This year’s event (20-21 September) will be held close to the city of Udine in eastern Italy, and is open to three main categories: elite-level men’s and women’s teams, the second tier International Trophy, and the Challenge des Nations – a recent addition for two-rider, mixed gender squads.
Team GB’s women will defend their title in 2025, having won their category for the last two consecutive seasons. Their world-beating line up in 2024 consisted of 10-time TrialGP Women champion Emma Bristow, and TrialGB regulars Kaytlyn Adshead and Alice Minta.
The Team GB men will once again be pushing for a strong Trial des Nations result in Italy – the same country where the squad took its last Trial des Nations victory at Lavarone in 2003.
Newly-appointed Team GB Manager, Sam Connor, was part of the men’s line up that tasted success that year. He remains focused on delivering some Team GB silverware in September, this time by supporting the homegrown riders that will be part of the ACU-backed team.
He said: “As the new Team Manager for 2025, the goal is simple: a win for all our GB teams! This includes a Challenge des Nations team which consists of one FIM Trial3 rider (125cc) and a FIM Trial2 Women rider. This will be the first time the ACU has entered a team in the Challenge des Nations and we have a great chance of winning in this category, too.”
