Make or break weekend for Anderson

19 July 2010

The second half of the season commences this weekend at the fantastic Foxhill circuit and our current Champion, Brad Anderson knows he has to start beating his three main title contenders in the MX1 class if he is to stand any chance of holding on to his title. The PAR Honda rider, who managed to squeeze the win - and the red plate - at the opening round at the end of March by a single point, currently lies 4th in the standings. The North Easterner is still in touch with the two immediately in front of him, Buildbase CCM's Stephen Sword and CAS Honda's South African import, Gareth Swanepoel, but the current leader and red plate holder, Evgeny Bobreshev on the second CAS Honda, is 46 points in front of Anderson, with 12 point scoring races still to come.

HM Plant Red Bull KTM rider, Jake Nicholls is 25 points (exactly one moto) behind American sensation, Zach Osborne (Bike It Cosworth Yamaha) in the MX2 class with PAR Homes Martin Barr the only other rider still in touch.

The full line up of 40 riders in all classes bristles with quality names and for the first time this season, Adam Chatfield, returns to the UK scene after relinquishing his AMA licence to compete in the event, in the MX1 class.

Other top names include, Josh Coppins, Tom Church, Jason Dougan,Ben LaMay, Nathan Parker, Carl Nunn, Gert Krestinov, James Noble, Alex Snow, Gordon Crockard, Ryan Blizzard in MX1 and Elliot Banks-Browne, Scott Elderfield, Matiss Karro, Mel Pocock, Bryan MacKenzie, Kristian Whatley, Neville Bradshaw, Graeme Irwin, Lewis Rose and world Ladies contender Natalie Kane in MX2.

The Foxhill circuit is within ten minutes of the M4 Motorway at junction 15 and the deep valley circuit offers excellent viewing. The first of eight championship races (three each for MX1 and MX2 and two MXY2 Youth races) will commence at 12.15pm with Free Practise and Timed Training at 9am, for early arrivals. New for 2010, an even steeper uphill section on the far side of the valley, keeps the action even closer to the main viewing areas.

The organisers, Foxhill Promotions Ltd have organsied other off track activities and look forward to seeing everyone at the circuit.
