All change at the top in MXY2

14 June 2010

Team Green Kawasaki's Connor Walkley, so often the nearly man, scored a win and second, to take the top spot at the sandy Cadders Hill circuit yesterday and at the same time inherited the lead in the Youth Championship, at the halfway stage. The ACU Academy rider now heads the championship by 18 points after the series leader coming into the event, Bradley Pocock, was sidelined with a badly broken leg in the morning's free practice session.

On the day, it was Rob Hooper's sole Suzuki rider, Matt Burrows who finished second and third in the two motos to take second overall. whilst Gary Sharp's fifth opening moto backed up by a win second time out moves him into second place in the series on his Drysdale Motorcycles/ G Force machine.

Luke Norris (Phoenix Tools Honda) scored two consistent fourth places for fourth overall on the day whilst James Dunn (Doodson Suziki) moves into third in the series standings after his second moto 7th was backed up a strong third place first race.

The final two rounds of the series will now take place at Foxhill on 25th July and Silverstone on the 29th August.
