Mallory ready to go!

18 March 2010

The Mallory Park circuit passed its homolgation yesterday and is now ready for the big event at the weekend as our picture shows.
With dry weather, the ACU Events team, together with Rob Wainwright as his crew have prepared the circuit and sealed the whole track in anticipation of overnight rain on Friday / Saturday.

Clerk of the Course, Chris Warren and Race Director, John Percival were at the final Inspection on Wednesday and were pleased that the ACU Inspector only required two minor points to be recified. Percival commented, "I am pleased the way the track preparation has gone and we are now ahead of schedule. We are also ready for any type of British weather and I am confident the track will be good whatever the weather. The technical parts are good and with the total length now 1400 metres, the lap time will be about 1 minute 50 seconds. We have incorporated some overtaking lines and I cannot believe how it has changed in the past five days."

For the first time, the event has attracted new riders from the continent including ex 250cc World Champion, Mickael Pichon and prospective 2010 MX2 Champion, Ken Roczen, together with Swiss Teka Suzuki rider Arnoud Tonus.

The event starts at 12.30pm, whilst early arrivals can watch the timed qualifying from 9.30am onwards. Follow the Mallory Park direction signs from all roads.
