Mallory Park the next round!

The famous Mallory Park, in Leicestershire, plays host to the second round of the championship on March 21st. After a thrilling first round, held at Little Silver near Exeter at the end of February, Mallory Park will continue with the new, exciting three race format, where both the MX1 and MX2 classes will compete over the 20 minute plus two laps motos, giving the race fans an action packed afternoon, starting at 12.30pm. Forty riders in each race will pace their machines over the spectacular man made jumps and natural terrain over the 1600 metre course to see who can come away with the series lead.

The governing body of motorcycling, the ACU, will make the short journey from Rugby to organise the event. With no less than eight motorcycle manufacturers and riders from as far a field as USA, Latvia, Sweden, South Africa, France, Russia and Ireland competing to attempt to take the coveted Red Plate from MX2 series leader, Zach Osborne and MX1 top gun, Brad Anderson. Osborne, who was born in Virginia, USA, will be keen to defend his lead on the Cosworth powered Bike It Yamaha, from the world famous Cosworth brand, from down the road at Northampton. The Formula One engine supplier openly admits it has it's sights set on taking the world MX2 crown with it's knowledge, combined with the established Bike it Yamaha Team, in their first year of motocross competition.

Reigning MX1 champion, Brad Anderson from Newcastle, riding his 450cc PAR Homes Honda (pictured) started his title defence with an overall win, so he will want to show the Mallory Park fans his blistering speed. The event will also feature the opening round of the MXY2 class where Britain's young talent get their chance to show the big teams who is the rider of the future.

Dont miss the action filled day, where practise and qualifying starts at 9.30am, with the first championship race at 12.30pm prompt. Admission prices are 20 per adult and 5 for children with a family ticket at 45. There will also be free access to view a Club Road Race event on the tarmac on the same day.
