Harri's in a hurry!

12 September 2019

After a year away, Harri Kullas returned to the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean this season and it’s safe to say he’s had a massive impact – and the good news for UK race fans is he will be back again in 2020.

The Finnish-born Estonian has enjoyed considerable success in 2019 with Cab Screens Deos Group Racing Honda and, despite the fact his team still hasn’t confirmed its choice of machinery for next season, the 27-year-old was happy to re-sign in the summer.

“We already made an agreement in July that we’ll continue,” said Harri. “We haven’t signed anything but I said yes and we just need to do the contract and we are good to go. Basically, we’ll continue with the same system as this year so it’s all looking good for me.”

Harri’s suffered two DNFs this season – both times with a broken chain – and he also sat out round five at Desertmartin with a shoulder injury. With the final round scheduled for Landrake on September 22 he’s sitting fifth in the MX1 standings – just one point from fourth – and is already looking forward to the 2020 championship with very real title aspirations following this year’s refresher course on the British tracks.

“Tommy Searle will be good and it depends on what [Shaun] Simpson and maybe [Max] Anstie are doing and maybe [Adam] Sterry is coming back to England. You never know who’s in there. If it’s the same bike then it’s easier for me, if we change then we have some work to do but I think for next year I can go for the British championship because I know the tracks again.

“Of course, the level is high and we will need some luck but we want to try to win some races and maybe also the title. We haven’t been far off this year if you put the good races together – we just have to be consistently top three and maybe try to win some races. It’s not impossible to go for the title but there are good riders against us.”
