Euro fighters!

Go Back The next round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean kicks off at Desertmartin in just over two weeks’ time on June 24 and the good news for race fans is that our top riders are all on great form.

Last weekend was the MXGP of GB at Matterley Basin and the Maxxis men were out in force with victories in both the main European categories.

Brad Anderson (Verde Substance KTM) smashed the EMX300 round. The defending champion puts his two-stroke aside when he races with us in MX1 but on the pre-mixer he’s untouchable at the moment and his 1-2 card at Matterley was easily good enough to make it back-to-back wins as he took the series lead.

It was a bad weekend for Mike Kras (GL12 Racing KTM) who lost the red plate after two mechanical DNFs but the sand-loving Dutchman will be back to defend his British Two-stroke Championship series lead in Northern Ireland. Ash Wilde (RMJ Husqvarna UK) – who’s currently second in the B2S series – just missed the podium with fourth overall.

Mike’s team-mate James Dunn has won the last two B2S rounds at Canada Heights and Blaxhall and at Matterley he was the only two-stroke rider in the EMX250 class but that didn’t stop him from racing to a top-10 finish. Currently third in the B2S series after a slow start to the season, when he's on-song – which he is – he's one of the most stylish riders in the country.

The EMX250 class also saw REVO Husqvarna UK team-mates Martin Barr and Mel Pocock bang bars. The pair left Hampshire separated by just three points with Martin – who will be on home turf at Desertmartin – leading a team 1-2 in the championship.

The class was won by Steven Clarke (Carglass Honda) – a wild card at our last round at Blaxhall – with another series regular, Josh Spinks (M Smith KTM), taking second overall and the points were packed by Maxxis riders including Lewis Tombs (Putoline/Planet Husqvarna), Todd Kellett (Verde Substance KTM) and Liam Knight (Pope Racing KTM).

Desertmartin is one of the UK’s premier tracks and the talent that will travel there makes for an unmissable weekend…
