TK aims for Culham return

22 March 2018

Go Back Fan favourite Hot Toddy Kellett is racing to get ready for the rescheduled opening round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean at Culham on April 1.

The 20-year-old Verde Substance KTM rider broke vertebrae in a practice crash in December but, amazingly, hes aiming to be back in action for the event which forms part of the four-day British Motocross festival that runs from March 30 to April 2.

Its been really great to get back on the bike, he said, but Ive been quite critical of myself and my riding. I feel Im making more mistakes than Id like but its to be expected Ive got no base settings for the bike, I havent got any pre-season stuff at all.

A former competitor in the Judd KTM British Youth National Championship that opens up the festival with two days of racing, Todd thinks its important that the younger racers get to share the same programme as the pros.

Going to the European championship last year I was really nervous so I can understand how the juniors might feel. Results are important but embrace the weekend and learn from it regardless of the result.

It can be tough but its an honour to ride on the same track as the pros. Its good to watch you dont always get that opportunity at the practice track or a club event to watch the pros in full flow and you can learn a lot.
