Go Back Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship MX2 contender Josiah Natzke (Hitachi KTM UK) took the overall win at the third round of the European EMX 250cc Championship over the weekend at Kegums in Latvia.

The 18-year-old Kiwi, who was third overall at Canada Heights last Sunday, won Saturday’s opening moto and backed this up with second in today’s race.

‘Congratulations to Josiah Natzke on his (and the team's) first ever overall EMX250 victory at the MXGP of Latvia,’ posted his team on its Facebook page. ‘After all of Josiah's and the team personnel's hard work and commitment this year, today is very special for our very loyal sponsors without whom it just wouldn't happen.’

After a couple of single-race DNFs at rounds one and two of the British championship, Josiah’s result at Canada Heights hoisted him up to eighth in the championship and on his current form he could be a serious threat at round four of the series at Hawkstone Park on Sunday.

Currently sitting two places ahead of Josiah in the British MX2 championship, Todd Kellett (St Blazey MX SJ Hodder Husqvarna) was also in action in Kegums and his 15-9 card was good enough for ninth overall.

Micky Eccles (Kawasaki), who took a race two fourth at round two of the EMX 250 championship, failed to score.

In the MX2 GP class British championship leader Ben Watson (Hitachi KTM UK) ended the day 19th overall after he followed up a no-score in the opener with 13th in race two.
